FAQ - Teeth Whitening
Is whitening covered by insurance?
No — teeth whitening is considered a cosmetic service and is not covered by dental insurance.
Is it safe?
Yes! Whitening performed by a Registered Dental Hygienist is both safe and effective. I use professional-grade products designed for comfort and reliable results.
Will my teeth be sensitive?
Some clients experience mild, temporary sensitivity. I include a complimentary desensitizing treatment with every session to help minimize this.
How long do results last?
With good oral care, use of your take-home extender pen, and occasional touch-ups, results typically last several months to a year.
Will whitening work on crowns, veneers, or fillings?
No — whitening only affects natural tooth enamel. It will not change the colour of crowns, veneers, fillings, or false teeth.
Who is whitening not recommended for?
Whitening isn’t recommended for clients under 16, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or anyone with untreated cavities, gum disease, or peroxide allergies.
