Your first visit is a complete oral health check-up. I’ll review your health history, check your teeth and gums, and perform an oral cancer screening. From there, we’ll create a personalized care plan for you. I’ll always make sure you feel comfortable and informed by discussing findings and answering any questions you may have.
New Patient Exams
Adults (Ages 12+): $131.10
Kids (Ages 6–11): $93.64
Children (Ages 0–5): $62.43
First Dental Visit (Ages 0–3): $33.71
These fees are most often covered by dental insurance plans.
Scaling & Polishing
Scaling & Polishing
What it is: Scaling is the careful removal of plaque and tartar buildup from your teeth, both above and below the gum line. This helps prevent gum disease and decay.
Pricing: $34.32 – $242.62 (based on the amount of cleaning required, discussed prior to treatment).
Polishing (Stain & Plaque Removal)
What it is: After scaling, polishing is used to remove surface stains and any remaining soft plaque, leaving your teeth feeling smooth and refreshed.
Pricing: $19.80 – $39.59
Most often covered by dental insurance plans. I can help review and explain your coverage if you have questions.
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride Treatments
What it is: Think of this as an extra shield for your teeth. A quick, invisible varnish is painted onto the enamel to strengthen teeth, help prevent cavities, and reduce sensitivity to hot and cold foods. It’s a fast and effective way to give your smile an added layer of protection.
Pricing: $33.71
What it is: A non-invasive way to help manage cavities, especially useful for young children or patients with dental anxiety. A liquid is brushed onto the tooth to stop a cavity from progressing without drilling or freezing. The decayed area will turn black where the liquid is applied, which is normal.
Pricing: $54.82
Often covered by insurance, but sometimes age restrictions apply. If you’d like, I can review and help explain your coverage.

Want to brighten your smile? I offer a professional whitening treatment that gives you a noticeably brighter smile in just one hour. The treatment uses a powerful natural whitening gel activated by a special light to give you quick, brilliant results. 100% safe and effective with minimal to no sensitivity!
Pricing:
Mobile Whitening (1 hour): $250
In-Clinic Whitening (1 hour): $230
Both options include a take-home extender pen to help maintain your new bright smile.

At Sunny Smiles Dental Hygiene, I want your experience to be clear and straightforward, from start to finish. I’m committed to providing high-quality, professional care that’s both convenient and accessible. Here’s an overview of how billing and fees work:
How We Bill for Services
Each service (such as scaling, polishing, or fluoride treatment) is itemized using standard dental hygiene procedure codes. For time-based services like scaling, the fee depends on the amount of care required. Fees are guided by the Ontario Dental Hygiene Association (ODHA) Suggested Fee Guide (2025) to ensure fair and transparent pricing.
Your First Appointment
All new patients begin with a comprehensive exam. This essential step allows me to understand your oral health and create a personalized treatment plan.
Direct Billing to Insurance
For your convenience, I offer direct billing to most dental insurance providers. Claims can be submitted electronically so you only pay the portion not covered at the time of your appointment.
Your Co-Payment
You are responsible for any portion of fees not covered by your insurance plan (such as deductibles, co-payments, or services outside your plan’s limits). Payment methods include e-transfer, debit, credit (Visa/Mastercard), Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay.
Mobile Service Fee
A $20 mobile service fee is applied per in-home visit. This fee is waived if more than one patient is seen at the same address on the same day.
